Effective date: June 20, 2026
Dool ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this policy carefully. By using Dool, you agree to the practices described here.
When you create an account we collect your username, display name, and optionally your email address. You may sign in anonymously, in which case no email is required until you choose to upgrade your account.
We store the habits you create, your completion history, streaks, XP, Gems, badge unlocks, and any goals or preferences you set during onboarding. This data is necessary to provide the core features of the Service.
We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including feature usage, session duration, device type, operating system version, and crash reports. This helps us improve the app.
If you use the friends or leaderboard features, we process your username, XP ranking, and streak information to display to other users you connect with.
We store your notification schedule preferences (morning, evening, both, or none) and quiet hours settings to deliver reminders at the right time.
We rely on trusted third-party providers to deliver the Service. Each provider has its own privacy policy that governs the data it processes.
Database, authentication, and real-time data sync. Your account, habit, and social data is stored in Supabase-hosted Postgres databases.
Subscription management and in-app purchase validation for the Premium plan.
Push notification delivery via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
AI-powered habit generation during onboarding. Your stated goals, age group, and lifestyle preferences are sent to OpenAI to generate personalized habit suggestions. We do not send your name or contact information.
App build infrastructure and hosting. Crash and diagnostic data may be processed by these platforms.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention records).
We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption in transit, row-level security on our Supabase database, and access controls to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Depending on your location (including the EU/EEA, UK, and California), you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@dool.app. We will respond within 30 days.
Dool is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Dool serves users globally, including French-speaking markets in Africa, France, and the diaspora. Your data may be stored and processed in countries outside your own, including the United States. We ensure appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place when transferring data across borders.
You may use Dool anonymously without providing an email address. Anonymous sessions are tied to your device. If you uninstall the app or lose your device, anonymous data cannot be recovered. We encourage you to upgrade to an email account to enable cloud backup and cross-device sync.
With your permission, we send push notifications for habit reminders and milestone alerts. You can manage or disable notifications at any time in the app settings or your device notification settings.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
